Mod Journal | RPG | OOC Community
Premise | Contact list | Rules | Taken/held | Wanted | Plot | PBs | FAQs | Application

The Rules
DRAMA
No drama. Please. IC drama is one thing, and expected, but OOC? Please don't. If you have a problem with another player, then you should talk it out, or bring it to a mod. But DO NOT bring OOC drama IC.

Individuals that start drama will only be given one warning before being dismissed from the game on the second offense. The same is true of those who are found to be participating in and/or encouraging drama. There will be no exceptions - drama will not be tolerated here.

MARY SUES/GODMODDING
Players need to be sure they have a firm idea of their character's personality and the game's premise before applying. Likewise, players should make sure they're staying in character.

Mary Sues/Gary Stus and godmodding are also not allowed.

If any of the above is seen happening with a character, the player will receive two warnings before being removed from the game on the third offense.

OOC/IC
OOC=Out of character. IC= In Character. If James is gay, but hasn't told anyone, then your character cannot bring it up as it is not known IC.

SPELLING/GRAMMAR
Both spelling and grammar are important, so looking over your post before hitting submit never hurts. If you use Firefox, there should be an inline spellchecker already installed on your browser. With this, your browser will point out misspelled words as you type, à la Microsoft Word. This should successfully prevent a majority of spelling issues.

CHARACTER LIMIT
Players are currently only allowed 3 characters max (although this number is subject to change). Additionally, players cannot play three characters that would interact regularly. Players seeking additional characters must allow a one month between applying for a new characters, although an exception may be made for extremely active players.

ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
Players are expected to post at least 1 journal entry or log every week as well as keep up with replies to other characters and threads. Activity checks will occur on Sunday every two weeks and a list will be put up on the OOC community listing journals that need to make a post or risk removal. Players who have not made a post or participated in a thread by the following Tuesday will be removed. Characters that make this list more than two times in a row (or continuously meet the bare minimum to resist removal) will be given a warning for not meeting activity requirements. After a warning, this character will be removed on the second offense.

HIATUSES
Hiatuses are allowed. Constant hiatuses could result in your dismissal from the game. However, this will be dealt with case-by-case (constantly being busy with school is a lot different than not having access to a computer for a certain length of time).

SHIPPING
Slash, het, and femmeslash are all permitted. However, there should be no tilt towards any particular orientation. Keep in mind if your character is anything other than heterosexual that they should be played as the setting requires.

Also, bear in mind that character relationships need to be born of an agreement between both players, as well as believable. If players seem to have joined solely for shipping purposes (and are disregarding other parts of the game for it) or are forcing certain ships on other players they will only receive one warning before being dismissed from the game.

PBS
PBs should be as close to canon as possible, although minor details (such as eye color) can be overlooked. Also, there should be a suitable amount of clear icons for your character. Try here for a complete list of icon makers and tips for uploading multiple icons quickly or transferring icons to a new account.

PLOT
Plots should be created with the pervasive storyline in mind and the RPG should not be used solely for any one purpose (shipping, for example).

Major plots (death, rape, and pregnancy) should be run by the mod, though minor character development, relationships, jobs, etc. do not need permission first.

JOURNALS
The journals are meant to keep people who don't regularly interact with your character or keep close tabs for personal interest on your character. They are first person.

Further more, your journal should be used ONLY for this RP.

Entries posted in journals are viewable to everyone unless stated otherwise.

Strike-outs are readable and indicate text was marked out but is still able to be read. Bolded strike-outs, however, are not and represent text that has been scribbled out. Privated text should be formatted as follows:

[Private to Recipient's Name Here]

Text here.

[/Private]

It should always be assumed, unless stated otherwise, that if a private is not addressed to your character (s)he cannot "break into" the other characters' journal.

Make sure to clarify the recipient(s) of a private addressed to certain characters. Saying something like "close friends" is too vague. Instead, list the names of those the private is addressed to. Established character groups (such as those on the character list), however, are acceptable.

Further, we allow this as if they are posting a seperate journal entry just to their friends, but should always be viewable by every player, though not their characters, but obviously they can't hex specific parts of an entry like Harry Potter can.

THREADS
Thread headings should be formatted as follows:

WHO: [Who's involved this scene.]
SETTING: [Where and when (morning, evening, between what events of the day) the scene is occurring.]
RATING: [For simplicity's sake, you can just use 'No Adult Content'/Worksafe or 'Adult Content'/Not Work Safe. Adult Content is, of course, graphic sex or violence. State which (graphic sex or violence) applies to a post labeled with Adult Content.]

If anyone is allowed to reply, just put:
WHO Character name and OPEN

AIM
AIM is a must, but you don't have to make new ones for each character.
